Adult Sunday School

Sundays at 10:00 a.m.

We have a variety of Adult Sunday School Classes that offer members & guests a range of choices. Every person is invited to visit more than one. We urge you to join a Sunday School class because we feel a class offers a caring and nurturing atmosphere in which to learn more about Jesus Christ.

Ed Stinson Sunday School Class:  This class is made up of adults over 35, married or single. This is a caring and sharing group. We think of each other as an extended family rather than class members. We get together socially in the spring, summer and Christmas. Members are involved in a variety of church activities. We use a variety of literature for our lessons and have a roster of teachers who rotate. We welcome anyone to visit our class.

Unity Sunday School Class:  This is an adult class made up of mostly couples, ages 35-50 with young children. Our Sunday school is structured around interests in applied Bible study and Christian fellowship. Each week a different class member leads the lesson, and we have challenging and lively discussions. We also have mission projects which vary from year to year according to the needs of our community that are brought to our attention. This group has parties throughout the year at members' homes, family picnics and Sunday lunches.

Open Door Sunday School Class:  Our class consists of married and singles with children and grandchildren. Some of the activities we enjoy are golf, fishing, ball games and cook-outs. We use the Adult Bible Series from Cokesbury and the class is teacher-led with discussion always welcome. We welcome anyone who wants to study the Bible, laugh and have a good time with people who love each other and want to reach out to those around them. Join us for coffee and donuts.

Ila McConnell Sunday School Class:  We get together each Sunday morning and share coffee, sweet rolls, hugs, joys, concerns, and love. We choose our scripture-based series from the Adult Bible Series from Cokesbury. Our circular seating arrangement encourages discussion and the exchange of ideas and experiences. Most of our members are in their 40's & 50's. Our hearts are young and caring and eager to welcome new members into our fellowship.

Fellowship Sunday School Class:  We consist of couples and singles mostly in their 70's, but welcome all ages. We have a lecture format followed by discussion. Our class enjoys trips, both day and overnight. We eat out together once a month. We support several charity organizations and our church's bereaved members and nursing home members. We use the Adult Bible Series from Cokesbury.

Comment Sunday School Class:  Our membership includes the "baby boomer" generation, couples and singles. We follow the Adult Bible Series from Cokesbury, with occasional side trips in other study areas. The class uses the open forum discussion format. Members are urged (but not required) to participate in discussion on topics that generally relate to the Christian experience in every-day living. All points of view are welcome as we grow in our religious life with one another. The Comment class holds quarterly mission lunches as fundraisers for a boy's home.

Visionaries  Our class includes couples and singles, mostly between the ages of 35 and 55. We are one of the newest Sunday School classes, having started originally as Sunday School for those attending the "Visions" contemporary service. We use a variety of Bible study literature and focus on teacher-led group discussion.

ETC.  This new class consists of mostly young adults between the ages of 21 and those in their late 40's. The class was formed in 2007 and uses topical studies based on class interest and encourages group discussion. The class members get together for social events on a quarterly basis and participate in community service projects.
