Youth Activities

Youth Ministry Purpose

Our mission is to offer a ministry for our teenagers to grow closer together and closer to God! We provide opportunities and encourage both Junior High Youth and Senior High Youth to become involved in the life of the church and our community.

Sunday nights, separate programs are offered for both Junior High and Senior High. This offers much more opportunity and possibility for lessons and discussions with age appropriate material. We also have speakers on occasions for special presentations. Church dinners are offered on Sunday evenings each week. On Wednesday nights, we offer a youth Bible Study with interactive scripture discussion and video clip lessons.

We attend several retreats throughout the year offered by the Louisiana Annual Conference of the United Methodist in the Conference Center in Woodworth, LA. These retreats offer experiences to grow spiritually with their peers from all over the state. We also have mission trips in the summer for both Senior High and Junior High. These are highlights of the youth ministry.

Each year, there is a Church-wide Fall Festival sponsored by the youth as a fundraiser for youth missions. This is a great time of fellowship in the life of our church as there are activities for young and old. One Sunday a year we dedicate to Youth Sunday when our youth will lead worship. The youth participate in all aspects of the services including, prayers of joy and concern, scripture reading, choir and even presenting the sermon.

We have several fun activities annually such as a Senior High snow ski trip, a Junior High canoe trip, Six Flags trip, water skiing trip, lock-ins and many others. We will periodically go to the movies, play miniature golf or paintball just to name a few.
